Linkteco’s Story: Building a Global Engine Parts Brand with Passion and Persistence

Linkteco's Story: Building a Global Engine Parts Brand with Passion and Persistence

Linkteco grows from startup to global brand, offering cylinder head assemblies, long cylinder block assemblies, overhaul kits, and more.

In 2013, I made a decision that would change the course of my life. Against all uncertainty, I stepped into the unknown and founded a company dedicated to automotive engine parts. At the time, I didn’t have much—just courage, persistence, and a belief that China’s manufacturing strength could power the world.

We started small, with the basics: cylinder head assemblies, short block assemblies, and overhaul kits. Soon after, we expanded into long cylinder block assemblies (often called “long engines”), timing kits, crankshaft kits, camshaft kits, and other essentials such as oil pumps, bearings, and cylinder head bolts. Each product line was a new milestone, each order a small victory.

Looking back, it was one order—a modest shipment to a customer in Mexico—that gave us the chance to survive. That first international sale not only brought precious cash flow but also lit the fire of confidence. It told me: Yes, this dream is possible.

Breaking Into the American Market

The following year, fate led us to an American client who specialized in large-displacement engines for pickup trucks. This encounter became the turning point of our company.

At that time, China had little exposure to these big engines. Few domestic companies dared to venture into this segment. Apart from a handful of Taiwanese trading firms, almost no one was supplying the market. But we saw an opportunity.

We invested heavily in engine core parts: cylinder head assemblies, short block assemblies, camshaft kits, oil pumps, and crankshaft kits. Leveraging the strength of China’s mature manufacturing supply chain, we moved fast, responded to market needs, and built a professional edge.

By 2018, Linkteco had become a trusted supplier in the large-displacement engine market, gaining recognition for both product expertise and reliability. Our name was spreading across the U.S., especially among those who valued quality and consistency.

The Rise of Cross-Border E-Commerce

In 2019, cross-border e-commerce exploded. Suddenly, platforms like Amazon, eBay, and AliExpress were shaping a new era of global trade. We began supplying sellers, and our business entered a period of rapid growth.

But growth came with challenges. E-commerce sellers cared about one thing above all: speed. They wanted the inventory delivered quickly. To meet these demands, we had to increase our stock of overhaul kits, long cylinder block assemblies, and timing kits.

Warehouses filled with products—valve covers, oil pans, water pumps, pistons, piston rings, rocker arms, lifters, push rods, intake valves, and exhaust valves. Cash flow became tight.

It was then I realized something crucial: instead of focusing only on big clients, we needed to serve small and medium B2B customers. These buyers ordered frequently, paid upfront, and required flexible volumes. They gave us stability and higher profit margins. That was when I understood the truth: “Whoever wins small B, wins the market.”

Expanding Through B2B Platforms

With this insight, we shifted more attention to platforms like 1688, Alibaba International, and Made-in-China.com. By embracing a wider base of small buyers, our cash flow improved dramatically. Healthy finances gave us the strength to think about the next stage: moving closer to the end market.

Stepping Into B2C

The question kept echoing in my mind: how could we reduce risks and bring our products closer to the people who actually use them? The answer was clear: B2C.

We expanded onto Amazon, eBay, Walmart, AliExpress, and most importantly, our official brand website linktecowholesale.com.

But from the beginning, we made one promise: never compete against our B2B customers.

  • We priced our B2C products slightly higher, ensuring distributors could still make profits.

  • We avoided price wars and focused on brand trust, product quality, and innovation.

  • We treated B2C as a way to build brand value and gather customer feedback, not just chase sales.

And it worked. In just three years, our B2C business achieved the scale that had taken nearly a decade in B2B. Even more interestingly, our product pages—like rare overhaul kits, long cylinder block assemblies, or camshaft kits—often became references for cross-border sellers searching for new opportunities.

Lessons From B2C: Innovation and Feedback

One of the greatest benefits of B2C is the direct voice of the customer.

For example, some B2C buyers told us that short block assemblies and long cylinder block assemblies needed improvements in bearing and oil pump matching. We listened, refined our designs, and improved reliability. Those improvements later benefited our B2B clients, who could proudly sell more durable products.

B2C also challenged us to expand our catalog with parts like valve covers, cylinder head bolts, rocker arms, lifters, push rods, pistons, piston rings, intake valves, exhaust valves, oil pans, and water pumps. By listening to retail users, we discovered gaps in the market and created new solutions.

Building a Dual-Track Growth Model

Today, Linkteco operates on a dual-track model:

  • B2B for scale, stability, and supply chain optimization.

  • B2C for brand building, higher margins, and innovation.

The two sides complement each other. Feedback from retail customers improves our wholesale offerings. Strong supply chain capabilities from B2B make our B2C more competitive. It’s a cycle of mutual empowerment.

Industry Reflections

The automotive engine parts industry is unlike any other. It is vast, fragmented, and highly specialized. Thousands of vehicle models exist, spanning decades, each requiring different parts: from overhaul kits and long cylinder block assemblies to oil pumps and camshaft kits.

In such a market:

  • Monopolies are nearly impossible.

  • Competing only on price is destructive.

  • True competitiveness comes from innovation, differentiation, and brand trust.

Unfortunately, for many years, Chinese manufacturing was labeled as “cheap.” In highly technical fields like engine parts, that reputation was damaging. But I believe this perception can and must change. By focusing on quality, openness, and differentiation, we can reshape what “Made in China” truly means.

Looking Toward the Future

My vision for the next chapter is not just about Linkteco—it’s about the industry as a whole.

In the coming year, I plan to visit 100 supply chain companies across China. I want to listen, learn, and explore partnerships. Together, we can form an export alliance, share resources, and create stronger Chinese brands in the global market.

Each visit will be documented through blog posts and videos. I want to show the real journey of Chinese manufacturing—our struggles, our persistence, and our breakthroughs.

Because ultimately, true success doesn’t come from defeating competitors. It comes from building an ecosystem where engine parts suppliers, distributors, and end-users all thrive together.

Final Thoughts

When I look back on this journey—from that very first order in Mexico to becoming a global brand—I feel gratitude above all. Gratitude for our clients, our partners, our employees, and even the challenges that forced us to grow.

Our story is proof that with persistence, clarity, and an unwavering commitment to quality, it is possible to rise from nothing and build something meaningful.

At Linkteco, we believe that the future belongs to collaboration, innovation, and trust. Whether it’s a cylinder head assembly, long cylinder block assembly, camshaft kit, overhaul kit, or water pump, every part we deliver carries not just metal and precision, but also our passion, our values, and our belief in a better tomorrow for the engine parts industry.
